Biography: Supavadee Aramvith received the B.S. (first class honors) degree in Computer Science from Mahidol University in 1993. She received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington, Seattle, USA, in 1996 and 2001, respectively. She joined Chulalongkorn University in June 2001. She is an Associate Professor at Department of Electrical Engineering with specialization in Video Technology. She has successfully advised 14 Ph.D., 30 Master’s, and 41 Bachelor’s Graduates. She published over 130 papers in International Conference Proceedings and Journals with 4 International Book Chapters. She has rich project management experiences as the project leader and former technical committee chairs to the Thailand Government bodies in Telecommunications and ICT. She is very active in the international arena with the leadership positions in the international network such as JICA Project for AUN/SEED-Net, NICT ASEAN IVO and the professional organizations such as IEEE, IEICE, APSIPA, and ITU.

Abstract
AI Based Video Analytics: In this talk, we will present and discuss the current trends and researches in video analytics. As surveillance cameras have been widely installed worldwide, although the main purpose of those cameras is for monitoring, but the most important task is to be able to analyze video contents and extract useful information. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Deep learning-based computer vision techniques utilizing multi-layer neural network is drastically improving the performance of video analytics to a certain extent. Several on-going researches on deep learning-based video analytics such as image super resolution, real-time multiple face recognition system, video anomaly detection and several implementations of embedded video analytic system on FPGA and Single Board Computers will be discussed. Some use cases of utilizing video analytics will also be mentioned.

Biography: Dr. Ling Chen is currently an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Hospital and Health Care Administration, National Yang Ming Chao Tung University (NYCU), Taipei, Taiwan. She received her Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of Queensland, Australia (2016). Prior to working at NYCU, she had four years of industry experience as a research developer in Brisbane, Australia, at a start-up company TrademarkVision, later acquired by a multi-national analytics company, Clarivate. There, she developed deep-learning (DL) models for trademark image recognition, segmentation, and feature learning in an R&D team. Dr. Chen main research interests include computer vision, machine learning, and deep learning, especially their applications in the medical decision support. Particularly, her recent research focused on cardiac images and ophthalmological data for risk analysis and progression prediction.

Biography: Dr. Rafia Mumtaz, a Tenured Professor, Head of the Software Engineering department, and director of NUST Coventry Internet of Things(IoT) lab at the National University of Sciences and Technology(NUST), received her Ph.D. from the University of Surrey, UK in 2010. Her teaching and research record is remarkable, having been awarded the HEC Best University Teacher Award for 2022, the University Best Teacher Award for 2021-22, and the Women of Wonders Award for her contribution to precision agriculture in 2021. Additionally, she was named School's Best Researcher in 2018 and included in the Directory of Productive Scientists of Pakistan by the Pakistan Council for Science and Technology in 2017. She established the IoT lab at NUST-SEECS in 2018 and secured research grants totaling PKR 134 million. She has published numerous high-quality research papers in reputable ISI-indexed impact factor journals. She has trained students with funding she received, aiding in the sustainability of education programs in developing countries like Pakistan, with many of her students employed in leading multinational companies or pursuing higher education at top international universities. Her innovative work has been recognized with four design patents and one copyright awarded by the Intellectual Property Office in Pakistan. Her contributions and accomplishments are exceptional, with many considering her on par with academicians in top universities worldwide.
